Additional personnel, thermal scanners, and sanitisers were deployed in the country's two major global airports by the Federal Government on Monday as part of measures to forestall another round of Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
The Director of Medical Services at the Ministry of Health Jackson Kioko said the government has reactivated the rapid response teams for enhanced surveillance and follow up of travelers with elevated body temperatures and asymptomatic cases with history of travel from DRC.
Yesterday the World Health Organization said contact tracing and investigation is under way for 125 people who have been exposed to the Ebola-Zaire outbreak strain, Reuters reported. He further estimated that 125 people had been linked to the confirmed Ebola cases and urged the public to be vigilant and visit their doctor if they experience fever or other symptoms.

More than 11,000 people died during a Ebola epidemic in west Africa during 2014. That is, where there is political will, success is assured. The countries at the epicentre of the epidemic then have all been Ebola-free since at least June of previous year.
On 9 May, WHO was informed of a cluster of undiagnosed illness and deaths, including haemorrhagic symptoms in Likati Health Zone, Bas Uele Province, some 1,300 kilometres (about 800 miles) from the Congolese capital, Kinshasa, and bordering the Central African Republic (CAR).
"Of the cases and deaths, one has been tested PCR-positive for Ebola".
The first case, which came April 22, involved a 45-year-old man. It is, however, working with the government to coordinate a response.
Will it be as bad as the West African outbreak?
The disease had ravaged Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, and was only recently contained in these countries. It is however not clear that how the first person received the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
