As a starting point for the new AMR models we get the Aston Martin Vantage AMR - perhaps Aston's sportiest model - which can be had as a V8 AMR or V12 AMR, and, we're promised, will be followed by AMR models across the AML range.
Inspiration for the AMR models come from Aston Martin Racing's various race cars.
Both cars are available with an automated manual sequential gearbox. Also, buyers can choose from five colors: lime green, graphite grey, blue, black and ultramarine.
The Aston Martin Vantage AMR is available in both coupe and convertible forms, with 100 V12 and 200 V8 models being made available.
The latter was already a factor in the development of new products, but the creations from Aston Martin Racing are expected to take things up by a few notches. The Halo Pack substitutes one of the four two-tone colour schemes for a Stirling Green paint job, complemented by Lime Green accents. For those wanting an extreme interior and exterior look, lightweight carbonfibre seats are offered, as are a host of other carbon features such as a lightweight front grille, mirror caps and door grabs on the inside.
But the AMG partnership certainly gives you an idea of what Aston Martin has planned for its AMR-badged cars, offering road-going models with motorsport-inspired makeovers, some with more power, some not. Should none of the above suit your style, an optional "Halo Pack" combines a Stirling Green paint with vivid Lime Green accents in the same vein as the WEC-winning #95 Vantage GTE from previous year.
For those who wish to add further finishing touches and personalisation, the Vantage AMR can be specified with additional options from the new AMR Accessories range. An aero kit saves 14 kilograms over the standard auto, thanks to carbon front splitter, rear wing and a titanium exhaust system. The interior is created to match the exterior, combining different types of leather and Alcantara, plus contrasting coloured accents, to complement the various paint jobs.
"As our most agile and athletic road vehicle, and our long-time representative in the world of GT racing, it is the flawless model with which to introduce the exciting AMR range". The V8 Roadster starts from £107,500 and V12 Roadster £158,500. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q4 2017.
