As for exactly when the Infinity War trailer will arrive, well, that much we still don't know. Of course, the photo is also missing several other women who were present at the Vanity Fair shoot, like Iron Man's Gwyneth Paltrow and The Avengers' Elisabeth Olsen, but just the sight of so many in a room all together is the photographic proof that we likely have some awesome all-female allegiances to look forward to on May 4, 2018, when Avengers: Infinity War storms into theaters. "Avengers 4" has been scheduled for May 3, 2019.
According to a Vanity Fair interview with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, "Avengers 4" will "bring things you've never seen in superhero films: a finale". For one, the livestream is still on Holland's Instagram account, and it plays into the narrative that Holland (and Ruffalo to a smaller extent) accidentally leaked confidential Marvel material yet again-making for a more interesting story than the simple release of the poster, which looks cool but might not spark much conversation.
As for the future of Marvel, Feige shared, "Marvel is 22 movies in, and we've got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that's come before-intentionally".
Many actors including Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr.as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye could be leaving the franchise since many of their contracts are set to end after Avengers 4.
He added, "There will be two distinct periods: everything before "Avengers 4" and everything after".
"Avengers: Infinity War" is scheduled for release on April 25 in Australia, April 27 in the United Kingdom and May 4 in the US.
In case you haven't noticed, the marketing campaign for Avengers: Infinity War began this week.
It's not like Holland would have been revealing anything significant anyway - it's just a purple-tinged logo, after all, teasing the imminent arrival of Thanos - but it's still fun to see Marvel's youngest hero (and one of the Science Bros) get in the spirit and give fans something more to get excited about.
