Actor Anthony Rapp says he is "gratified" by the responses he has received in the wake of his sexual misconduct allegations against Kevin Spacey. The news is the first confirmed update since it was announced Kevin Spacey would no longer be involved following multiple sexual harassment and abuse allegations.
Speaking Monday at UBS' Global Media and Communication Conference, he added the order would provide "some closure to the show for fans".
It was still waiting to know what Netflix was going to do season 6 of House of Cards, Kevin Spacey has been fired unceremoniously during the shooting because of a sex scandal.
On Nov. 26, Media Rights Capital announced that it had extended its production hiatus for another two weeks until December 8. In the second half of his post, Spacey wrote, "I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man". Production on the first two episodes had already been completed and a table read for episode three was on the schedule. The final season will not include Spacey, as previously announced.
House of Cards was too big of a hit to simply bail out on it, so the team has clearly had to make adjustments. The series counts David Fincher, Wright and Dana Brunetti as executive producers.
Additionally, director Ridley Scott also removed the actor from his upcoming film "All the Money in the World", with Christopher Plummer. Christopher Plummer will take over Spacey's role as J. Paul Getty in the feature, due in theaters December 22.
